چکیده

Suppose that the vertices of a graph G are colored with two colors in an unknown way. The color occurs on more than half is called majority (if it exists), and any vertex this . We study problem finding (or show none if we can query edges to learn whether their endpoints have same or different colors. Denote least number queries needed worst case by m ( ) It was shown Saks Werman K n = − b , where 1’s binary representation In paper initiate for general graphs. obvious bounds connected ≤ 1 tree T even odd vertices, 65 2 Our proof uses results about weighted version which may be independent interest. also exhibit sequence graphs such has O vertices.

Open problems for equienergetic graphs

The energy of a graph is equal to the sum of the absolute values of its eigenvalues. Two graphs of the same order are said to be equienergetic if their energies are equal. We point out the following two open problems for equienergetic graphs. (1) Although it is known that there are numerous pairs of equienergetic, non-cospectral trees, it is not known how to systematically construct any such pa...

global results on some nonlinear partial differential equations for direct and inverse problems

Turán problems for integer-weighted graphs

A multigraph is (k, r)-dense if every k-set spans at most r edges. What is the maximum number of edges exN(n, k, r) in a (k, r)-dense multigraph on n vertices? We determine the maximum possible weight of such graphs for almost all k and r (e.g., for all r > k) by determining a constant m = m(k, r) and showing that exN(n, k, r) = m ( n 2 ) +O(n), thus giving a generalization of Turán’s theorem. ...

A combinatorial algorithm for weighted stable sets in bipartite graphs

Computing a maximum weighted stable set in a bipartite graph is considered wellsolved and usually approached with preflow-push, Ford-Fulkerson or network simplex algorithms. We present a combinatorial algorithm for the problem that is not based on flows. Numerical tests suggest that this algorithm performs quite well in practice and is competitive with flow based algorithms especially in the ca...
